The 21st Century: A Quranic Hell? - Gates of Vienna

The 21st Century: A Quranic Hell?: "Our Danish correspondent TB sends his translation of a prescient piece written by the man who is now the Danish Foreign Minister, and includes this explanatory note:

Kim Møller from Uriasposten has dug up this very interesting comment from an old printed edition of Berlingske Tidende. He posted the highlights of it a week ago. Of course, you and I and the rest of GoV readers already know about the things mentioned in the article, so that is not really the point of interest here.

Two other things are worth noting. First: The author of it is the present Foreign Minister of Denmark, Per Stig Møller [PSM], an educated historian and highly respected person in Danish society. Second: The scenarios for the future that Mr. Møller describes in the article were written 15 years ago.

TB’s translation was made directly from Uriasposten’s blog post:

Per Stig Møller about the coming hell the Quran asks its believers to prepare for us.

Long comment made by PSM and printed in Berlingske Tidende on March 12, 1995. From “The Future With Islam” which starts out by describing the expected scenario. The article is not online.

At the elections in 1999 the fundamentalist party won the election in Turkey. The very same year Mubarak’s government in Egypt and King Hassan in Morocco fell victim to fundamentalist coups. As the fundamentalist rebels, FISA, had already taken over in Algeria in 1997 the east and south coast of the Mediterranean were now in the hands of the fundamentalists. After that the Muslim countries joined a common defense union which had as its first task the removal of Israel. At the same time the countries around the Mediterranean created a free trade area to be able to compete with the EU. Besides the Mediterranean countries, it was comprised of the whole Arabian Peninsula, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan while Malaysia and Indonesia became associated countries. The worlds 1.5 billion Muslims had now joined in the biggest defense and economic alliance in the world.

Not since the peace in Karlowitz 1699, when the Ottomans were forced to leave Hungary and Austria, had the Islamic world been as comprehensive and strong. And the expansion looked to continue. In the former Soviet Islamic-dominated republics, Russia started to bleed in an attempt to quell the fundamentalists by military means. In the cities of Western European, Muslim minorities no longer allowed themselves to integrate. Confident in the word of the Quran that “The East and The West belongs to Allah. Wherever you turn — you will find the face of Allah” (Quran, 1:46. 1967) they were waiting on the fall of the West. The core test for the Western World became the threat against Israel. Either the West would interfere massively to secure the existence of Israel and show the fundamentalists exactly where the line was drawn. Or it could negotiate to find a solution that would dissolve Israel but at the same time secure the religious freedom of the Jews and minority protection in the new Palestinian state. If the latter happened, the Western leadership would be condemned for once again sacrificing the Jews and entering a disgraceful Munich-type deal. If the former happened a great new war would be unleashed, whose consequences could be the fall of the West and an Islam spreading even further into Europe than it had done during its greatest period in 732, when it reached all the way up into France and in 1683 was knocking at the Gates of Vienna.
- - - - - - - - -
[…]

A war between Eastern and Western Europe on the one side and the Muslim world on the other would mean a total breakdown in the high-tech European infrastructure and bear with it a relatively larger privation for the Europeans than for the Muslims who were fighting for their place in the sun at last, and to get out of the misery for which they blamed the West. To them the war will be “a holy war” based on the words of the Quran: “Oh, those who believe, fight the infidels around you.” (Hourani: “The History of The Arab People, p. 173. 1994)

[…]

Western Civilization cannot give in to this kind of fundamentalism, which denies all the ideals that we take for granted and which stands for a view on women which we find directly inhuman. One of the leaders of FISA, Ali Benhadj, has said it like this: “The woman is a human producer, she does not produce material goods, she produces this essential thing which the Muslim is” (le nouvel Observateur, 22.9.1994). Western Civilization cannot give in to this kind of fundamentalism which denies all the ideals of which we base our society. This notion of the woman is built on the following incitement from Muhammad: “Have intercourse and multiply yourselves, on judgment day my honor will resemble your number” — and this number the women have been tasked to increase…

[…]

The scenario in the beginning of this article shows that the 21st century can become the hell the Quran asks its believers to prepare for us: “Say to them who do not believe: You will be defeated and assembled in hell. And evil is the place of rest.” (1,II4)…

In The Dark -- And Whistling: "by Hugh Fitzgerald (February 2010)

Islam is not a hieratic mystery, where only the initiated, a special priesthood, can possibly understand. It is, rather, sufficiently grasped by more than a billion people, who save for a handful, have been born into it, and have grown up in societies suffused with it, societies where it is impermissible to question Islam, to ponder whether its directives make moral or intellectual sense, and where any open display of questioning is punished, and any open admission of apostasy can result, in many cases, in a death sentence carried out not necessarily by the Musliim state, but left up to the informal meting out of Muslim justice by Believers quick to take offense. more>>>..."

Begg, Barot and Kashmir - Harry's Place

Begg, Barot and Kashmir: "

One reason Moazzam Begg’s transformation from failed jihadi to poster boy for Amnesty International (what else do you call a man whom Amnesty UK have even promoted in a poetry reading) is so remarkable is that Begg has a long history of extremism.

Let’s turn back to 2000, when he was arrested at Maktabah al Ansar (“Bookstore of the Helpers”, a reference to Medinans who helped Mohammed) in Birmingham. Here’s his father’s account:

“He was a partner of the shop, or something, and had all sorts of books. He was accused of making a rifle in a shop. They [MI5] went to his shop and the house,” said Azmat Begg. “‘They suspected him because they all had beards. It was circumstantial – there was so much suspicion of him and then they started doing things to him.”

He added, however, that the investigations into his son came to nothing, saying: “They couldn’t do anything. They didn’t find anything. He was arrested. They thought that he was doing something funny.”

“They knew he had a computer and thought what he was doing was stored in the computer so they took it away. He was laughing. They tried to get him to reveal the code on his computer. They took him to court and the judge said he could not compel him to reveal it.”

maktabah

Well he might have laughed, for Begg was released without charge and his bookstore was indeed doing “something funny”.

Like publishing “The Army of Madinah in Kashmir”, for example. It is a cross between jihadi adventure tale and training manual for future mujahideen hoping to sneak in and slaughter Indians more effectively in Kashmir.

Here is the publisher’s note, which is an ode to the author, with a requisite bow to Abdullah Azzam, a leader in the Afghan jihad against the Soviets and a mentor to Osama bin Laden:

Publisher’s Note

Indeed all Praise is for Allah Alone, Master of the Day of Judgment and peace and blessings be upon the Noblestof Prophets, the Imaarn of the pious, the commander of the Mujahideen, our Messenger Muhammed and all those who follow in good until the Day of Reckoning.

Oh Allah nothing is easy except what you make easy an you make the difficult easy if you wish.

With great enthusiasm and pleasure we at Maktabah Al Ansaar have taken on the task of publishing this work, which we believe will offer insight of the reality of Jihad in the cause of Allah in the land of Kashmir. It is, we believe a compelling book in its essence and will leave the reader with a feeling of picturing events in the occupied vale as if one witnessed’ the events himself.

What is most unusual about this book is the author himself. It is so rare for people in our age to take on the struggle for the sake of Allah. So imagine someone who comes from a non-Muslim background, struggling first against himself, then those around him from friends and family and then to take on the most noble of duties in Allah’s cause – only to face an onslaught from Muslims themselves!

However, in the word of As Shaykh As Shaheed ‘Abdullah ‘Azzam “It is the few that carry the burden of carrying Islam to mankind, then a few from amongst them offer their wealth and their lives in the path of Allah, and it is a few from amongst a few from amongst a few who sacrifice their lives for Islam”.

The struggle for the Muslims to regain their honour is a hard one, but indeed difficulties of the worst kind is the way of the prophets, the righteous, the truthful and the martyrs – in return for which there is nothing less than earning the pleasure of the Merciful.

We ask Allah to make this work a source to increasing the balance of good deeds on the Day of Judgement for all who took part in its production, and a source of clarification of the reality in the battlefields of Kashmir.

You can read “The Army of Madinah in Kashmir” here (pdf).

It includes this note at the the end – a celebration of the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight 814 in 1999:

December 1999 witnessed a great landmark in the Kashmiri Jihad, one that resounded internationaly when revoloutionary members of the Pakistan based Harkat-ul-Mujahideen group successfully co-ordinated a hijacking of an Indian airlines plane in the Katmandu region in Nepal, managing to eventully steer it successfully to Khandahar in Afghanistan.

In a daring fete that seemed to be a throw back to the heydays of the sixties and seventies when professional revolutionaries such as Illich Ramirez Navas, aka Carlos the Jackal, had waged war on the Capitalist world, the HUM members rewound the tape and pulled off the seemingly impossible in a day and age of a new world which considers itself to be fully conversant in handling hostage situations. Point in case, the last hi-jacking attempt was the equally daring one of 1994 when Algerian Mujahideen members managed to overrun aRoyal Jordanian airlines aircraft on Algerian soil.

India has been dealt a severe blow and by its own admission feels that this will only serve to fuel mass resistance through militancy throughout the Occupied Territories. In the aftermath of this milestone only three Mujahideen clerics have been liberated. Therefore in the same breath, we cannot allow ourselves to be consummed by jubilation. There still remain enumerable Mujahideen locked up around India and Kashmir in the filthy dungeons as indeed they are the world round.

One of the passengers, Rupin Kaytal, was stabbed to death during the hijacking. He was 25.

IA814

Flight 814 in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan

One of the three men India released was Omar Sheikh. He went on to join the band that kidnapped and decapitated American journalist Daniel Pearl in Pakistan. He was arrested, convicted and sentenced to death in 2002.

And who was the author of “The Army of Madinah in Kashmir”? Esa al-Hindi, AKA Dhiren Barot. He was jailed for life in 2006 for plotting mass murder in London and New York in the name of al Qaeda.

This is one of his sinister surveillance videos, recorded when he was “on holiday” in America in 2000.

This was Begg’s world in the run-up to 9/11.

Shame on Amnesty International. Not for defending Begg’s rights, but for turning him into a symbol of justice.

He is nothing but a symbol of jihadi hatred.

Imam at Leyton mosque jailed for beating a nine-year-old boy - The Iconoclast

Imam at Leyton mosque jailed for beating a nine-year-old boy: "From The Waltham Forest Guardian
A RELIGIOUS leader has been jailed for punching and kicking a nine-year-old boy, then beating him with a bamboo stick. Gulam Hussain, 44, of Knotts Green Road, in Leyton, was jailed for 12 weeks today at Walthamstow Magistrates' Court after pleading guilty to common assault by beating.
The court heard that Hussain, who was an Imam at The Jamia Mosque in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, had previously been cautioned in 2005 for a charge of actual bodily harm (ABH) against an 11-year-old.
Chair magistrate Dr Paul Davis told Hussain through an Urdu interpreter that he was being jailed, “for the protection of the public”. Hussain's mitigation was that “cultural differences” meant he had not realised the beating was wrong. So he has been in England since 2005 or earlier and still needs an interpreter. And he was cautioned for a previous incident, from which caution he apparently learnt nothing. Deport him.

Menace in mad march of the thought police: "This is Janet Albrechtsen in The Australian on the subject of the trial of Geert Wilders and free speech.
THE dark spectre of illiberalism is slowly poisoning Western liberal democracies. You won't hear about it from much of the left-liberal press. It is part of the problem and its silence only confirms that basic liberties integral to Western liberal democracies are under threat. That is why you may not have heard about the trial of Dutch politician Geert Wilders, who is being prosecuted under hate laws in The Netherlands for his opinions about Islam. Agree or disagree with Wilders, this is the thundering march of the thought police. And don't for a moment imagine that Australia is immune from this menace to democracy.
In a trial that began last month, Wilders is being prosecuted for offending a "group of people", for incitement and discrimination against Muslims. The summons describes scenes from his film Fitna as reason enough to put the leader of the Freedom Party in p..."

Sweden - Job agency fined for religious discrimination - The Iconoclast

Sweden - Job agency fined for religious discrimination: "From the Swedish edition of the Local
Sweden’s National Public Employment Agency (Arbetsförmedlingen) has been fined for discriminating against a Muslim man who had his benefits withdrawn after refusing to shake the hand of a female CEO.
According to a ruling in the Stockholm District Court on Monday, the agency has been ordered to pay 60,000 kronor ($8,000) to the man after it withdrew him from a labour market training scheme when he refused to shake the hand of a female CEO at a firm with which he was seeking work experience. The court ruled that the agency was aware that the man's religious convictions prevented him from shaking hands with women he did not know.

The company elected not to offer the man an internship, later arguing that the decision was taken due to his lack of appropriate skills and experience.

According to Swedish law, after probable cause has been established for a case of discrimination, the onus is on the opponent to prove that it did not take..."

Yemen Al Qaeda Urges Jihad, Wants Red Sea Blocked

By REUTERS

Filed at 3:24 p.m. ET
SANAA/DUBAI (Reuters) - The Yemen-based wing of al Qaeda called for a regional Muslim holy war and a blockade of the Red Sea to cut off U.S. shipments to Israel, a further sign of the group's ambitions to mount new strikes outside its base.
Yemen is in the throes of a major crackdown on the global militant network's regional off-shoot, which grabbed the world's attention when it claimed a failed bomb attack on U.S.-bound plane in December.
Western powers and neighbouring Saudi Arabia, the world's top oil exporter, fear that Yemen's growing instability as it struggles with northern Shi'ite rebels and southern secessionists, may allow al Qaeda to strengthen its operations.
"The Christians, the Jews, and the treacherous apostate rulers have pounced on you ... you have no other way out from this plight other than to wage jihad," the wing's deputy leader, Saeed al-Sheh..."

Two must-read pieces.

David Aaronovitch

When he was putting together his week of lectures on the war against terror at UCL in 2007, the would-be bomber Abdulmutallab invited Begg, Qureshi, Ridley and that dangerous idiot George Galloway to speak. He did so because he knew that the cumulative effect of their commissions and omissions would be to radicalise his audience. Not in defence of human rights. Not in favour of Western agendas such as Amnesty’s, but against democracy, women’s rights and peace. You have to be a something of a fool not to see it.

Terry Glavin:

To the embarrassment of its most principled supporters and against all internal entreaties, Amnesty International has persisted in whoring itself out to Cage Prisoners, a front for Taliban enthusiasts and al Qaida devotees that fraudulently presents itself a human rights group.

After two years of trying to reason with her bosses, Gita Sahgal, the head of AI’s gender unit, decided she’d finally had enough. This weekend, she blew the whistle. She gave the Times of London her January 30 appeal to her bosses, which states only the obvious: AI’s service to Cage Prisoners is both prone and supine, it “fundamentally damages Amnesty International’s integrity and, more importantly, constitutes a threat to human rights.” AI’s conduct has been driven by a cowardly fear of being labeled Islamophobic. More of the obvious: “To be appearing on platforms with Britain’s most famous supporter of the Taliban, whom we treat as a human rights defender, is a gross error of judgment.”

Today, AI relieved Gita of her duties.

All along, while Amnesty International brass has been promoting and servicing Begg and Cage Prisoners, Begg and Cage Prisoners have been promoting and servicing Anwar al-Awlaki. And that’s not even the half of it.

So, enough. Amnesty International has long depended upon the trust, the goodwill and the generosity of liberals, civil libertarians, and people of conscience from across the political spectrum who have been pleased to send AI their money. Those people should stop.

Not a penny for AI until Gita Sahgal is reinstated and AI cuts all its ties to fraudsters like Cage Prisoners and Moazzam Begg.

In the meantime, if you want to directly invest some spare cash to free people from slavery, and get immediate results, you will be happy to know that you can help free the women of Afghanistan from the dungeons of obscurantism and illiteracy. UCL AhlulBayt Islamic Society – Latest apologists for Islamic Republic - Harry's Place

UCL AhlulBayt Islamic Society – Latest apologists for Islamic Republic: "

This is a crosspost by Arash

I am fuming. Yet again, these morons who run our universities are turning a blind eye to the Islamic Republic apologists that seek to indoctrinate British students. This Thursday (11th Feb/22 Bahman), University College London’s AhlulBayt Islamic Society is playing host to some of the vilest promoters of the Islamic Regime in Iran.

1979 – The revolution that shook the world” will in their own words “explore the Islamic Revolutions in the Modern times, and why the 1979 Islamic Revolution led by Grand Ayatullah Khomeini was successful“. And who should be presenting such an event? Why, none other than Ahmadinejad supporter and PressTV employee Yvonne Ridley and Tehran University professor and government lackey Mohammad Marandi who last week publicly defended the executions of Mohammad Reza Ali-Zamani and Arash Rahmanipour.

The National Union of Students and most university student unions are pretty vocal about their self proclaimed dislike of fascists. Most British universities have a “no platform” policy regarding the far right neo Nazi British National Party. However, these same morons can’t recognise when a group of Islamic Republic fascists want to peddle propaganda! Would a talk given by the architects of the South African Apartheid regime be so palatable to these ignorant students? Why are our universities so misguided and why have the ignorant come to rule over us students?!

A cursory glance through the “attending” guest list immediately confirms my suspicions. There are more Pakistanis and Bengalis attending than Iranians, which frankly isn’t surprising given that levels of support for the Islamic Republic are relatively higher amongst the former two populations than amongst Iranians. These same Bengalis and Pakistanis who are seeing their countries torn apart by Islamofascism can’t recognise it when it comes to the UK and attends their university! Aside from them, the minority of Iranians that are attending are the usual crew….hardcore Islamists who have photos of Khomeini as their profile pictures and “خط امام” (Line of the Imam) as their political view.

To further conflate matters, surprise surprise, this event is being held on February 11th (22 Bahman) the 31st anniversary of the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Huge protests are scheduled all over Iran as the Iranian people continue to fight for their freedom and liberty, such that yet again the Islamic Regime has cut internet access in Iran, and what a coincidence that on the night of these protests here in the UK (where the regime can’t cut internet access, but can mislead the masses), a talk will be given on the “success” of the Revolution! Does anyone still have doubts that UCL AhlulBayt Islamic Society is just another front for the Islamic Republic?

Comments are most welcome

Harry’s Place adds:

You have have to watch the promotional video for this event:

They say:

“If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws”

I bet that if an attempt was made to oppose this event, the Socialist Workers Party and Socialist Action would be the first to attack the protestors.

Amazing, innit.

UK: Police chief says Muslim community "could do more" to aid anti-terror efforts - Jihad Watch

UK: Police chief says Muslim community "could do more" to aid anti-terror efforts: "

For years now we have seen non-Muslim law enforcement officials gingerly, politely make this request. And yet as year after year passes, no one ever says, 'Time's up!' and begins to call the Muslim community to account for its non-support of anti-terror efforts. No one ever asks himself why the Muslim communities in the U.K. and the U.S. don't do more to aid anti-terror efforts. No one ever starts to question the bedrock assumption that these communities are on our side in what used to be called the war on terror, despite the lack of any actual evidence that they really are on our side.

'Police chief calls on Muslims to support terror offensive,' from Emergency Services News, February 8 (thanks to Twostellas):

The Muslim community 'could do more' to help identify extremist individuals, a senior officer has said.

Sir Norman Bettison, the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police, said that while he is conscious there is a fine line between winning the support of the Muslim community and alienating it, there was also a need for the community to work with the police.

'I'm looking for the community to work much more closely with the police in identifying young people that they have concerns about in terms of the people that they're mixing with, the sort of websites that they're going on to and the material that they're reading,' he said.

'Now that information can only come from the community itself.'...

Spencer: "The Geert Wilders trial ought to be an international media event" - Jihad Watch

Spencer: "The Geert Wilders trial ought to be an international media event": "

Here is my entry in a National Review symposium today, 'Western Civilization on Trial':

The Geert Wilders trial ought to be an international media event; seldom has any court case anywhere had such enormous implications for the future of the free world. The case against him, which has all the legitimacy of a Stalinist-era Moscow show trial, is a manifestation of the global assault on free speech sponsored chiefly at the U.N. by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). If Wilders loses, the freedom of speech will be threatened everywhere in the West.

Even if he wins, a dangerous precedent has been set by the fact of the trial itself: It is a sad day for the freedom of speech when a man can be put on trial for causing another man offense. If offending someone were really a crime warranting prosecution by the civil authorities, the legal system would be opened up to absurdities even greater than the Wilders trial.

But of course what Dutch authorities, Muslim groups in the Netherlands, and the OIC really want to accomplish is to silence Wilders's truth-telling about jihad and Islamic supremacism. The court's railroading of Wilders was clear from that fact that 15 of his 18 requested witnesses were disallowed, including Mohammed Bouyeri, the Koran-inspired murderer of Theo Van Gogh who would have proven Wilders's point immediately. As Wilders himself put it Wednesday: 'This court is not interested in the truth. This court doesn't want me to have a fair trial.' The darkness descending over Europe, as indicated by this trial, may ensure that there is no fair trial there again for a long, long time.

Other symposium participants include Bat Ye'or, Paul Marshall, Clifford D. May, Daniel Pipes, and Nina Shea. Read it all.

Proposed Destruction of Local Heritage for the Sake of Multiculturalism: The Camberley Mosque Project - Liberties Alliance

Proposed Destruction of Local Heritage for the Sake of Multiculturalism: The Camberley Mosque Project: "

A proposal to demolish a listed building in a conservation area in favour of a new mosque will be made at an extra meeting of Surrey Heath Borough Council. It relates to the proposed Camberley mosque project.

The planning committee has already voted in favour of the proposed project with politicians going against the recommendation of local planning experts. Surrey Heath Borough Council is a Tory local authority with 30 Conservative members out of a possible 40 seats. It is possible that the decision that is eventually made by the full council will resonate nationally. There is much concern about Islamisation in Great Britain and a great deal of discontent with the mainstream political parties on this issue.

If the decision to destroy a locally important landmark gets the go ahead then the damage to the Conservative Party’s election prospects might be significant, and this in an election year where they are reported to be now sliding in the polls. People will be asking the question of whether a Conservative government will be willing to stand up for the rights of non-Muslims and the traditional freedoms of Great Britain such as freedom of speech. In fact David Cameron does not really inspire confidence in this regard.

The message that would be sent out is clear, namely that it is perfectly acceptable to sacrifice British history at the altar of multiculturalism to meet the needs of a vociferous and assertive minority. Ever since 9/11, concessions have been made to Islam and Western cultural interests have been sacrificed and Western culture abused and undermined. If the existing building is not fit for the needs of the local Muslim community then they should choose an alternative site that does not require the wilful destruction of local history. Would such destruction be allowed if the new structure was a non-Islamic building? The attitude of the planning committee is yet another example of the favoured status that Islam now enjoys in Great Britain.

Perhaps attacking local heritage is the very reason that the site was chosen in the first place. There would be a certain symbolism in demolition and replacement of a local landmark with a purpose-built Islamic structure.

The political establishment seems determined to undermine Great Britain and its cultural and historic heritage because such considerations are not in keeping with, and are in fact an obstacle to, their plans. They have been undermining the political rights and freedoms of Britons and attempting to re-write their history. Those who object to their plans are accused of ‘hate-speech’ – that increasingly used tool to silence open and honest debate. It seems that Islamisation is the official policy of the current British Government as well as that of the entire mainstream political elite. If people are in favour of retaining British culture, heritage and values then perhaps they should consider not voting for the three main parties in Great Britain as such a vote would be a wasted vote.

Sultan Knish: Who are the real infidels? - The Iconoclast

Sultan Knish: Who are the real infidels?: "Sultan Knish is one of few clear-eyed pundits who sees what is at the core of Islamic doctrine that motivates the unkindest cuts by home grown Muslims in the West; killing innocent unbelievers under the diktat of Jihad.
In this Op-Ed on his blog, "Who are the Real Infidels? " Sultan Knish articulates a compelling and trenchant attack on the concept of kufr or infidel in Islamic doctrine - the hated unbelievers, us. Instead Sultan Knish turns the concept of infidel under Islam on its head. He drives home the underlying point of this Op-Ed that the very acts of terror commited against us by these self-motivated Jihadis makes them the infidels in our midst and not the victims.
It is a powerful indictment of the Islamic Canon and those obsessive multiculturalists mired in the myopia of political correctness that it is only a limited few extremists among the billions in the 'peaceful' Muslim ummah, who attack us.

Gita Sahgal Suspended From Amnesty International - The Iconoclast

Gita Sahgal Suspended From Amnesty International: "From an article by Noah Pollak:
"Meet Gita Sahgal, the head of Amnesty’s gender unit. She went public with her disgust after spending two years in a failed effort to separate Amnesty from Begg:

No kidding. But this story doesn’t have a happy ending. Amnesty responded to her going public by suspending her. The excellent British blog Harry’s Place has posted her statement:

Western Civilization on Trial -- By: NRO Symposium: "As the Geert Wilders case goes into pre-trial, National Review Online asked our experts: Is there any legitimate reason he’s in court? What are the implications of such a trial being held, nevermind its outcome?

BAT YE’OR
Geert Wilders is a hero for those countless Europeans who cherish a free and democratic Europe -- a Europe proud of its Judeo-Christian and humanistic values, its civilization, and its achievements in the field of human rights. But this is not today’s Europe. In today’s Europe, synagogues, Jewish schools, clubs, and cemeteries need to be guarded -- as if going to a Jewish school or praying in a synagogue were a crime punishable by death as in Nazi-occupied Europe. Intellectuals, scholars, and those who protest the creeping Eurabization of culture and society are threatened, boycotted by their colleagues, thrown out of their jobs, forced to leave their families and go into hiding, or obliged to live with bodyguards. Wilders has devoted his life to freeing Europe from Eurabia’s clutches. To this titanic struggle he has sacrificed the security of his life and the joys of family. Threatened by a desert whirlwind blowing hatred upon Europe from the south, spending days and nights shielded by bodyguards, persecuted and tormented by his feckless Eurabian opponents, Geert Wilders incarnates the free soul of an unbending Europe.

The American media’s silence about the Geert Wilders trial is puzzling -- the trial is explosive, much more so than most of America’s perennial “trials of the century.” Wilders, leader of the Freedom party, is arguably the Netherlands’s most popular politician, but for years he has had to live in safe houses, including on military bases. He now faces the possibility of imprisonment on charges of “group insult” and “incitement to hatred,” as defined by articles 137 (c) and (d) of the Dutch penal code, for his public speeches and op-eds criticizing Islam.

Apart from its direct and immediate threat to free speech, the trial exposes the growth of political violence and repression in the Netherlands, long lauded as the most tolerant country in Europe, if not the world. Thirty years ago, I interviewed then-prime minister Dries van Agt simply by strolling into his unguarded parliamentary office and asking his secretary if he could spare me a couple of minutes. Now it is a country where politicians and artists are targeted by vigilantes and the state.

In 2002, popular Dutch politician and gay activist Pim Fortuyn was murdered by an environmentalist who took offense at Fortuyn’s criticism of Islam. In 2004, one of the country’s leading documentarians, Theo Van Gogh, was murdered, and almost beheaded, on the streets of Amsterdam in retaliation for a film he made about Islam (Submission). In 2006, a gathering of scholars and commentators critical of Islam and Islamism led the Dutch security service to invoke an alert level just short of “national emergency.” In 2008, the prospective release of Wilders’s film Fitna led to special sessions of the Dutch cabinet. The country’s best-known member of parliament, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, for many years had to live in hiding, and even briefly fled the country. This is the situation in the heart of liberal Europe.

The media’s silence is also disturbing since it indicates their reluctance, even fear, when it comes to grappling with the West’s increasing censorship of anything that might be deemed offensive to some Muslims. So far, the effects in the U.S. are small -- such as the Yale University Press’s removing the famous Danish cartoons from a book about those same cartoons -- but they betray a mindset common to much of Europe: preemptive self-censorship. Media outlets that defended and lauded Salman Rushdie two decades ago, when the Ayatollah Khomeini called for him to be killed over The Satanic Verses, now cringe and shy away from those facing similar threats.

Within much of the Muslim world, political and religious debate, especially amongst Muslims, is shut down in the name of preventing anything that could “insult Islam.” Unless we strenuously defend Wilders’s right -- and our own right -- to speak, especially to criticize and offend, we will stumble down the same path.

I used to think of the Netherlands as a land of tulips, windmills, Anne Frank, and a little boy with his finger in the dike. Increasingly, I think of it as the place where Theo van Gogh was murdered in broad daylight, Aayan Hirsi Ali was betrayed, and free speech is on trial.

Pretty much all you need to know about the prosecution of the controversial Dutch politician Geert Wilders was summed up in a single (if run-on) sentence attributed to the “Openbaar Ministerie,” which is not, as the name might suggest, a place that serves free whiskey to pastors. It is the prosecution service of the Dutch Ministry of Justice.

In response to Wilders’s request to bring in witnesses to establish the veracity of the opinions that got him in trouble with the law, that body issued this statement on January 17: “It is irrelevant whether Wilders’s witnesses might prove Wilders’s observations to be correct, what’s relevant is that his observations are illegal.”

In other words, the prosecutors believe that the truth is not a defense in the Netherlands, nor perhaps elsewhere in Europe -- a continent that appears no longer to have the will to defend its values, culture, and civilization. Very sad.

DANIEL PIPES
Wilders is in court because the Netherlands has no First Amendment, and so endlessly tries to figure out what speech to permit and what to prohibit. Wilders is hardly the only victim of this predicament; the arrest and jailing in 2008 of a cartoonist who goes by “Gregorius Nekschot” notoriously symbolized the state’s incoherence.

U.S. media should cover the Wilders proceedings because Wilders’s career has implications beyond one man, one party, or one country. It potentially affects all of Europe as the continent works out its response to the Islamic challenge. The U.S. media does an adequate job of informing its audience about this topic, so the near-silence about Wilders comes as a bit of a surprise.

The Islamic challenge forces Europeans to take stock of themselves in an unprecedented way. Colorful examples include the British ICONS project, which features 120 “national treasures” that help define English culture; the Dutch government’s film for potential immigrants that features a topless woman on the beach and two men kissing; and the French prime minister’s decision to expel a man from France for compelling his wife to wear a burqa.

Europe’s future is in play. Wilders’s time in court affects the outcome.

NINA SHEA
In 1989, Iran’s supreme leader issued a blasphemy fatwa against Salman Rushdie in London. It was the opening volley in a new Muslim push -- later taken up by the 57-member Organization of the Islamic Conference -- to force the West to adopt Islamic-blasphemy strictures within its borders. Intimidated, the West has begun to comply. It does so mostly through self-censorship and by prosecuting those who do speak out under religious-hate-speech laws such as those invoked in the Netherlands against Wilders. These laws are the West’s proxy for blasphemy bans.

The danger has not been mass imprisonment -- actual convictions have been few -- but the creation of a general deterrent to criticism of Islam or anything Islamic. Europe’s leaders likely believe that banning religious hate speech is a small price to pay for greater security; if so, they are wrong. The premise that religion can be easily compartmentalized, relegated to an autonomous sphere separate from politics and culture, is a misconception. Europe’s present path has profound implications for scholarship, political progress, social and economic development, and national security. This chilling of speech, aggravated by Muslim violence, erodes fundamental freedoms of speech and religion and threatens the West’s very identity.

Such laws will not bring social harmony. Anti-blasphemy pushes in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Sudan, and elsewhere are often driven by implacable ideologues and political opportunists. Muslims who protest the radicals’ agenda are the first to be silenced. As Malaysia’s former finance minister observed, religious hate-speech laws all depend on the “elastic goo” of public sentiment. A nation that entertains such cases will be forced to go from issue to issue, “hostage to the brinkmanship of sensitivities.”

ROBERT SPENCER

But of course what Dutch authorities, Muslim groups in the Netherlands, and the OIC really want to accomplish is to silence Wilders’s truth-telling about jihad and Islamic supremacism. The court’s railroading of Wilders was clear from that fact that 15 of his 18 requested witnesses were disallowed, including Mohammed Bouyeri, the Koran-inspired murderer of Theo Van Gogh who would have proven Wilders’s point immediately. As Wilders himself put it Wednesday: “This court is not interested in the truth. This court doesn’t want me to have a fair trial.” The darkness descending over Europe, as indicated by this trial, may ensure that there is no fair trial there again for a long, long time.

Tensions grow as Pakistan cancels talks with India - Canada Free Press

Tensions grow as Pakistan cancels talks with India: "(Delhi, February 8) “Pakistan Shows its True Colours,” screamed angry headlines here this morning after Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi abruptly and defiantly refused to schedule talks with India about the 2008 terrorist attacks on Mumbai and the countries’ longstanding dispute over Kashmir. Those attacks left 173 people dead. The terrorist group, Lashkar e Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which shook this nation of over a billion people."

RALLY FOR GEERT WILDERS IN PARLIAMENT SQUARE OUTSIDE HOUSE OF LORDS.......: "

Geert Wilders has been invited to show his short film Fitna in the House of Lords on 5 March 2010.

The purpose of this rally is not to attack Islam or Muslims, but rather to show support for Geert Wilders and to celebrate the achievements of Western Civilization. Namely Democracy, Free Speech and Human Rights.
Just under a year ago the Labour Government barred him entry to the country after Nazir Ahmed threatened to bring 10 000 Muslims to besiege the Houses of Parliament. To censor opposing views in a democracy is a moral outrage and suggests an inclination towards tyranny and appeasement on the part of the Government. Of course the Government was subsequently forced to remove this ridiculous ban and now Geert Wilders can finally get to show his film in the House of Lords.
In Holland the latest attempt of the Dutch ruling class to keep Wilders from office has begun, Mr. Wilders is on trial in the Netherlands for telling the truth. This trial will have unparalleled significance for the future of Europe. It is not just about whether our culture will survive, but whether we are even allowed to state the fact that it is being threatened.
Mr Wilders visit will be only a couple of months prior to the expected British general election, and the issue of Islamization is something that many in Great Britain are acutely concerned about. Hopefully, his visit will help break the taboo about discussion of Sharia in Great Britain and encourage an open and honest debate on the subject in the run-up to the General Election.
Show your support for Geert Wilders, Democracy and Free Speech by attending this rally on the 5th March 2010.

Is Everyone Born a Muslim? - The Iconoclast

Is Everyone Born a Muslim?: "This article by ex-Muslim ali Sina is authoritative and informative.

It's the most ridiculous claim one could ever have made in history...
Dear Mr. Sina,
Muslims claim their religion is the oldest and only the truth and all human beings are born as Muslims but practice religion according to their upbringing. They claim people “revert” back to Islam and not convert to it. Could you please elaborate on this?
Muslims love lies. They live in perpetual self delusion. The claim that people are born Muslims and then indoctrinated into other faith is a ridiculous claim. If all children were born Muslim then one should see people who are not indoctrinated in any religion, would want to naturally believe in Islam. But this is not happening. In fact there is resistance and as the result Muslims try to sugarcoat Islam with 1001 lies to make it more palatable.
Also we are witnessing that even those who were indoctrinated in Islam leave it once they come to learn ..."
